After lunch and a brief siesta on December 30, 2009, we headed to the Discovery Center to pick up some additional species. The Panama Rainforest Discovery Center is located on Pipeline Road and borders Soberania National Park (40 minutes from Panama City). The main draw for us was the 40-meter observation tower and the hummingbirds at the Visitor Center. We saw the King Vulture flying overhead. This adult has a short tail and is mostly white with a black rump, tail and flight feathers. It was a sunny afternoon with temperatures in the upper 90's and very hot, humid conditions.
