We were birding along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, when we photographed several Black-headed Parrots, Pionites melanocephalus, that were foraging in the canopy. The adult has a black crown, yellow throat and whisker area, white underparts, emerald green back, wings, and upper tail, an orangish nape, yellow thighs and crissum, blue primaries (blackish from below), and a grayish-black bill and feet. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with overcast skies.
