We were birding along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012. We tried to be aware of the Aztec Ants, Azteca sp., crawling around on branches and twigs that sometimes raked the sides of our skiff as we motored along the waterway to avoid being bitten. Temperatures were in the mid-70's with partly cloudy skies.
