We were birding along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012. I photographed a Tucuxi or Gray Dolphin (Sotalia fluviatilis) as it surfaced. The tucuxi is not closely related to 'true' river dolphins. It is classified in the oceanic dolphin family. We also saw a Botto or a Pink River Dolphin (Inia geoffrensis) playing in this tributary. They are freshwater river dolphins. Temperatures were in the upper 70's with partly cloudy skies.
