The morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2012, we birded along the Ucayali River and along Supay Creek, which is located down river from the city of Requena. Brad photographed a Plum-throated Cotinga, Cotinga maynana, that was perched atop a small tree. The male has a purple throat, pale iris, and unspotted vibrant blue plumage. Temperatures were in the mid-70's with overcast skies and high humidity.
